I need to add that there are no residents across the street (or anywhere near us. We are way out in the woods.) The land is used for hunting and is heavily wooded. I kept looking out to see what all of the dogs were barking at and the first couple of times I saw nothing. The next time the barking began I decided to get up one more time and look out. As soon as I opened my front door, I noticed a bright object above the trees across the street from our home. I sat and waited to see if the object appeared to be coming closer, because at first I thought it might have been an airplane coming straight on because it seemed to be a horizontal line of red and blue lights. After a few moments, I realized that this object was not moving. It was hovering and pulsating these red and blue colors. There was no sound except for the barking of the dogs across the street at this point. Once I realized what I truly might have been witnessing, I ran inside to wake up my teenage daughter and asked her to put her glasses on and come tell me what she sees. I ran to grab my digital camera and then remembered that my husband took it with him on his hunting trip! She went to the front door and started to become very frightened. She begged me to call the police. I just giggled and told her that they would think we were crazy if this thing disappeared by the time they got here. I ran back inside and searched for our binoculars and I have to admit that I was truly frightened by this thing in the sky! It was a diamond shape that had a pulsating red glow around the outside of it and the only way I can describe the center is that it had a pattern that resembled marble or a marble effect to it. The bluish light pulsated around the marble like lines. By this point my daughter was truly frightened and went back in her room! I stayed sitting on the ground using my knees as leverage so my hands wouldn't shake the binoculars so much. After a short time of watching this thing, I noticed a small red dot come from it and move to the left of it...then another came out proceeded by one more. The red dots all moved (slowly) to the left and then eventually out of my view. I waited a while to see if the object would move but I have to admit that I let my fear get the best of me. I started thinking about the stories of abductions so I went back to my couch and covered up. I figured that I will just keep getting up occasionally and peer out the window to see if there was a change and my dogs would definitely start barking if something would happen. I kept getting up to look but there was no change. I must have dozed off and the next thing I know is my front door is opening (around 1:30 AM) It was my daughter.
She looked back and told me it was gone! I got up to look and the thing was gone! I am going to be more prepared next time (I hope there is a next time!) Reported By: Nancy - Port St. Lucie, Florida -Saturday, January 19, 2002 at 11:48:52 Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Key Largo, Florida - Date: 1/16/02 - Time: 9:00 PM - Witnesses: 2 Objects Shape: Other - Number of objects: 1 - Object had lights - Object hovered There were aircraft in the area - The event took place near A Military Airfield or Base Additional Information: Approximately 2 miles from the Atlantic Ocean Event Description: On vacation in Key Largo, I was standing on the terrace, watching the stars on a clear, dark night, no moon visable. Earlier, there had been a rather nasty traffic accident not far from where I was staying, and the Medivac Helicopters had been in the vicinity. Also, there were several Police Helicopters seeming to be searching the area for several minutes. Unfortunately, this area of the United States is known for illegal 'drug running' due to it's remoteness and closeness to many islands in the Carribean. During this 'busy' period in the sky, I noticed a slow moving object, very high up in the night sky. It's location was so high, I couldn't comprehend it being part of any potential 'scouting trip." Using a pair of binoculars, my friend and I noticed that this object had lights flashing red and green, similar to that of an aircraft. We continued to watch and as we did, the object began to change from a hovering position to one of movement. It would 'zig zag' to the right and left, up and down very quickly and then seemed to return to it's original 'hover' position. We watched for over an hour. By that time, the other aircraft has long disappeared. In all honesty, it's appearance resembled a star, twinkling red and green and at an extremely high altitude. What seemed so unusal to me was the length of time this object 'hovered.' No other aircraft came near it whether it was hovering or moving place to place. After approximately an hour and a half of observing this, the object simply disappeared. I took my telescope out to show the kids Saturn and Jupiter. While I was centering the scope on Saturn to the East the oldest girl age 12 tapped me on the shoulder and said "What's that?" I looked to where she was pointing towards the NE and 4 balls of light traveling in a straight line, formation style, went by heading due south. From when I saw the lights till they disappeared over the trees, lasted about 3 seconds. My best guess at speed would be the lights traveled from the Georgia-Florida State line to St. Augustine in approximately 3 seconds. Total length of formation 10-15 miles. I have no perception of the altitude of the lights. Could have been 30k feet to thirty miles. It was the strangest thing I
have seen in the skies. No sound was emitted and a very calm came to me as I watched. The lights were 10-15 times the size of Jupiter that night. Would like to know if anyone else along the coast saw the lights I described. Looking out the upper left area of my windshield, I saw a green oblong light in the sky. It was shaped like a thin vitamin capsule and pale green. Its size was difficult to determine, but it seemed to take up an inch in my visual field. I watched trying to determine what it was connected to and I saw it was above wires and no towers of any kind could be seen in the vicinity. I stared for a while, long enough to question what it was, my guess about 4 seconds. Then it appeared to move away, that is, it became smaller in my visual field in two movements. I do not believe in extra terrestrials. I do believe in military weapons. Port Canaveral Event Description: My girlfriend and I where on our last night of a vacation in Indian Harbour and decided to take a trip out to sea on a sterling casino liner. We set sail at 7:00 PM from S. Port Canaveral on Thursday, February 15th. At about ten thirty-ish we walked up onto the upper decks to take in the night air. I must note here that neither of us drink alcohol, we where both completely sober. While we where on deck, my girlfriend noticed a set of six strange red lights flying around in the relatively clear nights sky about two or three miles out to sea. We were already about three miles out from shore. We watched as these red lights darted around in a seemingly random fashion, though in tight formation, their actions reminded us both of birds darting around each other in a small flock, these though where not birds, planes, kites, flares or helicopters, as they traveled at a terrific speed and with precise movements. After about ten seconds of swooping around, they each gathered together in an ordered line, one behind the other, once at an equal distance apart they formed a slightly arched circle in the sky, they seemed to vanish from view as they passed towards the back of the circle. I would estimate the circle to be about two hundred feet in circumference. Five of the lights then vanished leaving only one, which flashed on and off, the other lights did not flash, but remained constant when in view. This single red light then moved off slowly for a few moments, before coming to a halt in the sky. It was now that we both noticed another light, larger and circular in shape, a hazy white light, which pulsated faintly. It seemed, we thought at first, to be a light house but this idea was dashed when it suddenly lifted itself up into the air about roughly two or three hundred feet, before sinking back towards the ground again after a short period. (Note: we did see a lighthouse as we sailed back into port and the white light we saw had no resemblance too it whatsoever.) It seemed to me to be reacting with the flashing red light, which was still hovering about a mile, or two to it's left. Suddenly, and this freaked us both out, six red lights reappeared from within the flashing light, the first firing directly down into the ocean below, you could tell it entered the ocean because it seemed to dim slightly as it reached the water and vanished. The other four shot out as fast as bullets, also towards the ocean but they were fired at a slightly different trajectory to the first. They shot towards the water but before they hit the waves, they turned at a sharp 45 degree angle, without changing speed, without a noise or fluctuation in the lights intensity, before flying in formation just above the ocean surface, maybe only feet away from the water, each on a slightly wider sweep than the first. Their lights clearly illuminating the water below before eventually disappearing about five seconds later. We can't be certain if they just vanished, entered the water or just simply raced over the horizon, these things where not rockets, as we at first thought, as the sudden change of direction at that terrific speed easily canceled that out beyond a shadow of a doubt. They also left no vapour/smoke trail. There was no sound at all throughout this sighting, even though we could clearly see and hear airliners flying high above, as well as the other cruise ship in the distance. We could hear the distant thudding of the music from that vessel clearly and it was much closer to the lights at this point. We asked a few other passengers about the lights and they where all equally as amazed and puzzled by them as the both of us. Once these five red lights had vanished, the flashing red light moved on about a mile along the horizon before stopping and restarting the whole procedure over again. Almost exactly like the first time they circled, started random bursts of low flying before disappearing for about ten seconds and shooting out of the flashing light, rapid fire fashion, one, two, three, four, five! This happened three times to our knowledge, before I took my girlfriend below deck, as she was getting really spooked by this point. I returned less than a minute or two later to find all the lights had vanished including the white light. I waited a while longer but could see nothing except starlight, charter planes high above us and the cruise ship on the horizon. Whatever it was we saw that night had vanished and was unlike anything either of us have ever seen. I would very much like to know what it was we saw out there on the Atlantic that night? I don't care if it was the testing of new rockets, flares or weather balloons! I really just want to hear, hopefully with your help, just what it was we saw both witnessed last Thursday night? I look forward to hearing from you soon with suggestions or updates. Yours faithfully, Peter H. Then, we saw another similar object appear nearby. The objects looked like the Millenium Falcon from Star wars (no joking)! We then proceeded to look at Venus and me and my brother kept noticing a large, very bright red object in the distance. It didn't move at all. We didn't think it was a star or planet since no star can be seen that bright. We disregarded the object and kept viewing the sky, then about ten minutes later, we saw the same bright red object moving across the sky, but at a slow speed. We discussed it for a few minutes and my friend came to a conclusion that it was probably just a fighter jet or helicopter. Then we looked again and it was gone! Top of page Reported By: A. There were probably twenty or so people there when we got there. As soon as we arrived, five of us decided to cross the river on the railroad bridge. (By the way neither me or my brother had consumed any alcohol or drugs.) We walked down the railroad tracks about a quarter of a mile. We came up on a field to the right. We saw a fog hanging over the field, nothing new in our area. Then Mike, a friend, just said "Airplane" and we looked up to see a light in the sky. It went in a straight line the first time I looked. I looked down and then heard Brad say "Whoa!" When I looked up the light had come to dead stop in the air. The light seemed to pulsate and then headed back in the opposite direction. It then started to zig zag. This thing couldn't have been a plane. It defied all normal laws of gravity. We ran back to get some of the others. We couldn't see anything from where the group was so we got a few to go back with us but we saw nothing. All we got was harassment from the others. Definitely not of this world. It was Halloween night. I looked up into the sky and for a split instant saw a shaft of light, which I think was some kind of narrow spray of electrons but that's just a theory. It wasn't very impressive, it was dim, milky, didn't change colors or directions, it was just a milky shaft of white light. I am very well educated in current scientific research, and haven't heard of anything that would explain what I saw (except for paranormal and supernatural reasons, of course). It wasn't auroral because I live closer to Cuba than my own state capital and thus couldn't be much farther from the auroral latitudes, it sort of reminded me of those videos of sprites and flares that shoot up from clouds. Except, sprites and flares shoot up from clouds and not across the sky and no one on the ground can see them, and there wasn't a cloud near it. I don't know what it was and I'm an expert on the extra-mundane. I will entertain any theories, but only if they fit with what I saw. I have many of my own, too many to even put my finger on one that fits best and I usually pick a theory that I think fits best (while keeping in mind that there are NO certainties in this universe). I'm only posting this because I have a general interest in the strange and unusual. I want to contribute to the volume of knowledge on the subject, if by no other means than by adding yet one more sighting to the millions and millions every year. The Truth isn't Out There, It's Here, We Just Have to Accept It. Believe what you want, but accept that hundreds of millions of people can't be wrong, the UFO phenomenon exists (in fact, I'd venture to guess that UFOs are more common than meteor showers). Event Description: On June 30, 2000, at 9:10 PM Central time, my son and I witnessed the following. The conditions at the time were clear below 12,000 ft, 81 degrees, barometric pressure was 29.98R. Looking south from the back yard of a private residence near the beach, we spotted a formation of flying objects. There were about 20 colored, solidly lit, circular shaped objects, with hazily defined edges, silently moving Eastward in a "V" formation. The V was not in a perfectly straight line. The formation was not a plane. The objects did not move like birds. When our view became obscured by a tree, by the time we shifted our viewpoint to get a clean line of site on the formation was gone from the sky. It is difficult to estimate the size and altitude of the objects. It is my guess that the altitude was a few thousand feet, and that the objects were each about 10 times the size that stars appear in the sky. Top of page Reported by: Tony J. - Port ST. County sighting took place: Polk - Number of witnesses: 2 - Objects Shape: Light - Number of objects: 1-5 Object had an Aura or Haze around it - Object hovered - Other: See explanation below Event Description: My friend and I were driving around one night. I was sitting in the passenger seat. All of a sudden I noticed out my window a bright, orange light. The location of the primary sighting was near the theme park of Cypress Gardens. The town itself is about fifty minutes south of Orlando. I had noticed this light that was in the sky behind the local Winn-Dixie (which is a grocery store). My friend and I observed the "light" performing strange maneuvers in the sky. At first, I saw only one bright, orange light. Then other objects, or "lights," started appearing around it that were the same color. They just appeared in the vicinity of the central "light." The "lights" would be moving very slowly in various directions, but never too far from the central "light." Sometimes the objects would be hovering next to each other then suddenly vanish, only to reappear on the other side of the object they had previously been next to. Other "lights" would disappear from their present position and then suddenly reappear at a different point, either higher or lower, of their previous one. They never moved fast, their maneuvers were also done very slowly. And the relative closeness that they sometimes acquired ruled out the possibility of any type of aircraft, such as helicopters, which could not have performed as close, or the type of maneuvers like these objects sometimes did. We watched this spectacle for quite awhile. I finally convinced my friend to take me to my house to get my video camera. We arrived at my house and the "lights" were still very visible from my front yard, which is where I recorded roughly about twenty-five seconds of three separate, orange lights in the sky before my battery had died due to lack of charge. At around this time, the lights had completely disappeared. They didn't zip away in high speed, they simply dimmed, then vanished from view. Not knowing if they were going to show up again, we left for Walmart. We had been in Walmart for a period of about ten to fifteen minutes and upon walking back to the car, were able to clearly spot the same lights we had seen before in the parking lot. We then rushed to my friend's house to get his camera. All the while the "lights" were still visible on the way to his house. We get to his house only to find that HIS battery is dead also. We anxiously charged both our batteries then returned to a spot where the lights had been. To our dismay, we never saw them again that night. We waited for about an hour before returning home. My only regret is my lack of battery power. If I was able to record the entire events of what these "lights" or "objects" had performed, I'm convinced it would've proven to be a very worthy piece of study and consequently, very unexplainable indeed. I work a second shift. As I approached my vehicle I noticed an arrangement of lights in the distance. They were in a Triangular form and heading in my direction. I assumed it was a regular aircraft because of the close proximity of the Orlando area airport. Something was very different with this "aircraft" though that made me continue to stare at it as it passed overhead. Usually, aircraft lights flash. This aircraft had a light at the nose and lights at either wing tip that were steady bright white. No strobes were visible at all. Also, because it was 3 o'clock in the morning, there is no traffic noise to hide a jets noise. This craft was absolutely silent for something as large and close as this thing was.
I also could no make out a shape against the night sky. It was as if it were painted black. I assume it was
Triangular, because of its lights. One at each corner. I appeared to be very close to the ground, because of how far
apart the lights were. I stared at this for what seemed forever because of its slow cruising speed. It just seemed to
float by. Like I said, it didn't make noise which is what really had me riveted. I was trying so hard to hear something!
But nothing. As I watched it finally disappeared over the distant trees I thought to myself, "NAH! It couldn't be." But I
can't help but keep thinking about it. What could it have been? Is what I saw a typical aircraft? I've never seen that
before and I've always lived near airports all my life. I've had lit up blimps scare the c- - - out of me sometimes as the
glow in the distance, but this was different. I only wish I could have been able to make it out better. Reported by: Robert V - Pensacola, FL - January 6, 2000 - 8:33 PM EST Subject: UFO Sighting - Event Location: Phillips Inlet, Florida - Event Date: 11/ 73 - Time of event: 3:00 a.m. Additional Info: Between Panama City Beach and Destin - County: Bay County, FL. Witnesses: 2 Objects Shape: Oval - Number of objects: 1 - Object had lights - Object emitted beams of light Event Description: In the fall of 1973, my wife and I were returning from seeing a film (The Sting) in Panama City, Florida. At that time, there was very little, if any development along HWY. 98. We were the only car on the road at the time. It was about 2:45 to 3:00 AM. There was a low overcast and the night was very dark. We were traveling west towards Santa Rosa Beach where we owned a cabin. I was driving a gold, 1968 Plymouth Barracuda. My wife was asleep with her head in my lap. All that I am about to relate occurred in just a few seconds. As we drove along the deserted highway, I noticed that the hood of the car seemed to be reflecting light from the sky..... at first, I figured that the clouds were breaking and that the moon was beginning to shine through when I realized that the light wasn't white but was rather a pale, radium green (I know..... it sounds nuts......just wait, it gets lots worse)......... looking up, I watched in disbelief as the clouds boiled above us and rapidly grew increasingly brighter. As I began to brake the car and yell for my wife to look, the clouds suddenly opened up and a brilliant, almost blindingly bright green light shone down..... out of the opening a bright green oval came at such a tremendous speed that it left a streak as an after image on my retina....... around the oval was a wedding band like ring of orange that rotated around the oval and which, although bright, seemed to give off no light. The thing approached the ground and we thought it would impact about 300 yards in front of us. Instead, just before striking the highway it made an obtuse turn, went over the dunes and struck the water about 1 mile offshore... then traveled under water to the horizon where it's light suddenly "blipped" out. It made a huge pressure wave as it traveled under the gulf water and continued to glow green all the way to the horizon..... the orange band was not apparent when it was beneath the water. It also hesitated and pulsed briefly before moving off under water. I have related this story many times to friends and have always been met with skepticism and disbelief...... who can blame them? Anyway, that is my true story of my only UFO encounter. I am university educated, having a BFA from the U of AL and an MFA from FSU..... I have taught school for 26 years and am also a professional potter who specializes in architectural ceramics..... I am not a wacko and really did see what I have accurately related here..... Scared both of us witless......... thanks
Robert sent us the following information the day after he submitted the above report: Reported By: Scott D - Location: St. Augustine, Florida
I proceeded to walk around the building when I was facing the large parking lot with my back to the sea. I could see
to the left an object approaching in a trajectory directly over the lot through the haze of the night. A feeling inside me
was hoping that it was just a group of pelicans until I saw the ship breaking through the night at a speed of around 35
mph and a height of approx. 5 stories high and approx. 75 feet from my view. My memory of what follows is clouded
by it's uncertain perfection. I can only describe certain things about the ship. The first thing I noticed was that it looked like any aircraft only many, many times more sophisticated. The cockpit area was entirely black like some
kind of radiation absorbing material like carbon. The fuselage was similar to most aircraft only more perfect in shape.
The wings were a combined delta shape and pyramidal structure also perfect. It was now to the right of me when I noticed the engine. I noticed two large engines and two smaller ports which were located beneath the wing structure.
My mind was racing and possibly communicating telepathically with the ship when I started getting angry because it
was leaving I thought, "I wish I had a rocket launcher so I could prove I discovered this.", when a flash of rationale told
me "go ahead". This must have upset me because I made the motion to launch a missile. At exactly that instant a
tremendous blast of a controlled nature came out of the two large engine ports. The ship began to ascend at an incredible rate of velocity. I determined it to move in a curve toward outer space at a rate near the speed of light
because the engines were visible at a great distance from Earth in less than 30 seconds. The rest of my story is amazing and I feel I have become a greater human being for the experience. Reported by: Marie - St. Cloud, Florida - November 16, 1999 - 11:36 PM |
