Subject: UFO Sighting - Location:  Rockford, Illinois. Date: 12/21/06 Time: 7:00 – 8:00 PM Witnesses: 1 Number Of Objects: 2 Object's Shape: Cylinder   Additional Information:  Objects had lights, changed colors and Hovered.
Event Description: 

Two objects were flying in the northeast sky.

They looked like lights from a plane. 

One was flying higher than the other.

They came together, flying at the same height and flew together across the sky heading east, then they both stopped in the sky 
northwest of me.

At first they looked like planes and as they flew they could have been satellites.

I see objects hover in the sky all the time.

Event Description:
I'm taking south Main, to take the By Pass to get to 11th St.

As I'm getting on the By Pass, I see to the right of me, about 2 miles ahead of me, and about a mile high, something that I had never seen before.

It was oval with extended small oval shaped sides. It had no sound. I stared at it as long as I could, to try and figure out what is was.

As I got closer, I seen no pole coming down from it and I noticed it was tilted to the right. It had no lights, but for some reason? I could not keep my eyes off of it.

It was gray in color. As I got closer to my exit, I turned on my turning signal, looked in my mirror, looked back up and it was gone!

I looked all over, but there was no trace. I did not see it again.

After a couple of minutes, I was on my way back home. I took the bypass back home, just to see if I would see it again. I did not.

If anyone out there saw this, or knows anything about this? Please let me know! Thank you.

Event Description:
My family and I had moved to Rockford from Arkansas. I was only seven years old.

My mother told my brother and I to go outside to play with friends, when we all looked up above the trees and saw a disk shaped object with lights pulsating around it.   It hovered over the trees and I can remember it being tilted at an angle.

We all were too young to make up such a story. When we ran home to tell our parents they dismissed us and said that it was a blimp.   Years later I reminded my brother of this incident and he had given the same account of this incident to his wife.

This technology was too advanced for 1977 and I have yet to see a blimp hover, tilt and leave in the blink of and eye, to this date.  

So to the gentlemen to stated that this did kind of stuff did not happen in Rockford in the 70's, it did.

I think it has something to do with the underground caves in the area.

Event Description:
August 12, 2003. Approximately 8:45 PM. Sitting at desk in front of bedroom windows talking on phone.

Thought I heard a car in the driveway, looked out, no car but bright lights in sky right next door by neighbors house. I thought a plane was going to crash right into our house.

I said to my sister on the phone, "I don't know what's going on, alot of lights but too large for a plane" then it disappeared. I ran into my daughters bedroom, my son-in-law is into UFO's. We couldn't see anything, my daughter came back in my room and then she saw it but it was going away.

There was no sound just lights, couldn't see shape just real long like cigar. Lights were getting dimmer. Not 3 to 5 minutes later, we saw what I believe to be 3 Air Force jets with spotlights, searching in a circle, then they took off like they were chasing something going east.

Talked to neighbor, he didn't see it but heard the jet engines. There are only 3 houses on the stretch where we live between Rt. 30 to Wolf's Crossing. This is still farm land yet, a lot of crop fields.

Additional Information: * My husband and I were on a 727 flying to Chicago from Seattle. It was around 5:00 PM and approximately a half hour prior to entering Chicago airspace, which I believe would have placed us over Iowa or southern Minnesota.
Event Description:
I had a window seat, and was looking out over the clouds, as we had just descended a bit to just over cloud level.  

I saw a small bullet-shaped object moving perpendicularly away from the plane, right above the clouds.  

At first I thought it was a large bird, not thinking that it's not likely a bird would be flying at 30,000 feet.  

I kept thinking that - wondering what kind of bird it was - until I saw the sun glint off its side.   The idea that it could be a metal object hadn't crossed my mind until then.

As the plane got closer, the object got farther away, but when we got directly behind it I couldn't see any wings or appendages of any kind coming off the sides or top/bottom.

As the plane passed the object, the object made about a 90-degree turn, then going the direction of the plane.   It wasn't going very fast before, but now was keeping up with the speed of the plane.

It continued that for only about 10 seconds (of course it felt like forever to me), and then slowed down until it went out of my line of sight.

I don't know if anyone else on the plane saw it that day.   My husband was listening to headphones at the time, and I didn't want to take my eyes off of it long enough to get his attention.   Of course later when I told him about it, he thought I was nuts!

Event Description:
It was November of my freshmen year at Nequa Valley High School. It was a Monday and I was riding the bus to school, thinking about how crappie Mondays are.

The road I was on, was about a mile or a mile and a half from the high school and about a quarter of a mile from the middle school next to it. You could clearly see the school from the road.

I was looking out my window and I noticed a silver, half oval shaped object hovering in the air. I looked at it for about five seconds and noticed that my friend was too. Everyone else was either talking or doing homework.

It was hovering about 2 miles away and could be seen clearly, it was silver and completely smooth. Our first thought was that it was a blimp, but decided that that couldn't be.

After seeing it for about 5 seconds we passed a local Blockbuster. In the second it took us to pass the small store it disappeared. There were no clouds and no tall buildings. It was simply gone. We knew it wasn't a plane because there were no wings and it was too large for the small Cesnas that are frequent in the area, but too low to be a jetliner.

Event Description:
My wife, children & I all witnessed 4 cigar shaped objects in the sky in the Northwestern Illinois area.  

One object appeared to be closer than the others and appeared to be hovering.   While we looked at the other 3 objects, the closest one had disappeared.   The remaining 3 seemed to be moving west but not at a high speed.  

If anyone else witnessed this, please let us know.

Event Description:
My husband noticed the large saucer shaped ship above E. State street, and called my attention to it. It was probably 30 ft. across, and when it listed to one side, so that I was seeing underneath it, there was one large circular light in the middle of it; which did not beam outward - but was just lit like it was illuminated from inside.

The ship seemed to be a dark color, that was not easily seen at night. It made no sound - and disappeared from sight in seconds. I was wondering if anyone else saw this ship?

Event Description:
It was in Joliet, IL. that I had an unusual sighting. I was 16 or 17 at the time, I'm 31 now which places this sighting at 14 years ago. I was enrolled in a government program called Job Corps. And this particular center is located at 1101 mills Rd. in Joliet Illinois. Which is where the sighting took place.

It occurred on a weekend, I want to say Friday at around 11:00 PM or Saturday, at close to the same time in November of 1987. The center was pretty much empty due to weekend passes for home leave. A friend and myself were in my dorm room on the second story playing a game of cards. I was facing the only window in my dorm room at which time I noticed two white lights resembling head lights of a car hitting the window. I thought nothing of it thinking that someone was pulling in to the parking lot located on the side my window was facing.

I noticed the lights climbing up the window which I found very strange so I looked out the window to see if any cars were pulling in to the parking lot (there were none). So I'm thinking, ok, maybe it is a helicopter. Well, this helicopter is flying very low and its going to pass directly in line with the window and I'm thinking to myself this will be neat to watch mainly because of how low it was.

Now on this particular night there was a full moon and low cloud coverage kind of steamy like a warm front moving in. When I noticed the object moving over the building, I saw the black silhouette of the object and it was round and moving slowly it had to be about 50 ft above the ground and it was huge, I would say about 40 to 45ft in diameter with no apparent lights other than the 2 white head lights shining in front of it.

We were very surprised. I grabbed an old Polaroid camera you know the ones that used the cube flash bulbs, and we ran down two flights of stairs and out the back into the main parking lot.

Now at the time I ascertained that the object we witnessed apparently moved back to the original spot that I first noticed it. It wasn't till a few years later that I'm assuming that it may very well have been another ship that was in the same flight path.
Because this ship now that I recall it seemed to be smaller than the first ship we witnessed, and this is why I believe there may have been two ships. So once we made it out side we saw a ship in the original location that we saw the first ship and I snapped about 5 pictures with the Polaroid.

Now this ship was turned at about a 45 degree angle as if to be observing us through there windows which appeared metallic like the rest of the ship. Now this ship seemed to be about half the size of the first ship about maybe 25 ft in diameter. and about 45 feet above the ground moving slowly over the building.

Upon viewing it, I saw the two white head lights shining out there was no sound coming from this ship. and as it was passing it turned at a 45 degree angle to its left side this time exposing its underbelly at which time it switched on 9 lights underneath it all white lights in the form of a cross, and rose silently into the clouds.

I did notice writing on this ship It looked Arabic much like symbols. We just stood there trying to justify just what it was that we saw, when out of the same flight path as the ships were heading came 4 black helicopters flying very fast in the direction we saw the ships.

Believe me when I say I have never seen helicopters fly that fast before. They were loud but the sound disappeared just as quickly as they came. I have been researching sightings for a while and I have yet to find a sighting close to the description of these ships.

The following day I sent the film in to be processed, A few days later I examined the photos. None of them were any good they were all black with white flecks on them. I know this sounds like an old fisherman's story like the big one that got away. But believe me I am being up front and honest with you and this story is very true.

There is something I forgot to mention, Rockford Illinois is the second largest city in Illinois next to Chicago. Due to city population the sightings would be at a much larger scale.
